FAQ's-- Frequently Asked Questions

Would you like to VOLUNTEER to help with this worthwhile project?

It’s Show Time!

What time does the show start?
The performances start at 8:00 PM.  Show runs for two hours with an approximate 20 minute intermission.

Where are the best seats?  All of our seats are general admission.  We believe that all of our seats are great seats; however different set designs can affect the view from different seats—for example, the elevation of the stage and the height of the set. Much depends on personal preferences. While many people insist on sitting in the first two or three rows, others find these too close for comfort (or for a full view of the action).   NOTE:  this performance is done on flat ground - seating is not sloped or tiered.  People with small children may wish to arrive earlier to get seats closer to the front for better visibility.

Do you offer Group Rates? We offer reduced rates for organized groups of 10 or more. Please call us at 518-338-5657 for more information.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance or can I purchase them when we arrive?   We always advise that you purchase your tickets in advance to assure your choice of performance dates.  Our performances did sell out completely in 2010.  If you wait until the night of the performance we cannot guarantee seats will be available.

How soon do I need to purchase my tickets?   We recommend at least a week in advance.  However we often have requests for ticket purchases starting in March-April due to the heavy volume of tourists that flock to the Lake George Region in the summer months.

Can you reserve my seats and I will pay cash when I arrive?  All tickets must be purchased. We cannot hold seats.

What if I lose my tickets? If you lose your tickets, please call the box office as soon as you become aware of the loss. Tickets will only be reprinted for the original purchaser. You must show proof of identity.

Can you mail my tickets to me?  To avoid the loss of your tickets in the mail, we do not mail tickets. We will hold your tickets for you at will call under your name.

Children

Can I bring my children? Children are welcome. We believe Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama is an experience for the entire family. There are loud bangs, so if your little one is somewhat scared of loud noises, use your best judgment.   Only you know how attentive your children are and their behavior.  Do keep in mind that if your child is causing distractions to the guests around them, you may be asked to leave your seat until the time when your child settles down.  Although we are a family-friendly outdoor production, we still function much like a formal theater.

Can I hold my two-year-old in my lap or do they need a ticket? Children age 3 and under are not required to have a ticket provided they sit on your lap if the performance is sold out.  We do ask that you please be aware and curb any distractions your child may cause.

Can I bring my stroller? You are welcome to bring your stroller, however they must be left to the right of our box office buiding before you reach our seating and theater area.  Please note, they will be left unattended and at your own risk.

Special Needs

Is your theatre wheelchair accessible? Wheelchair seating is available; please call the box office in advance for assistance before making your purchase. Please note, our performance area seating is on grass and access ways/paths are gravel and dirt and may be uneven and require negotiation with wheelchairs.

We have special needs, can you help us? A limited number of audio-assist units are available free of charge. Please call the box office and notify them of your request in advance of performance night so that we may accommodate needs. A driver’s license will be required to sign out for the unit.

Rain, Refunds and Re-scheduling

What if it’s raining? The weather in the Adirondacks can be unpredictable especially because of our mountainous region.  So if it’s raining, come to the show anyway. You must be present to get your raincheck or refund.  No performance is ever cancelled before 8:30 pm. Please visit our Box Office/Tickets page for our full rain policy.

Can we bring an umbrella? We do not allow umbrellas in the seats.  We suggest a rain poncho in case of a light drizzle. We have a limited supply available for purchase at our ticket booth.

What should I wear? We are strictly casual and comfortable. We always advise our guests to wear a light jacket or sweater though as the evenings in the Adirondack mountains do get chilly-even in August.  Please avoid wearing large hats which might obstruct someone's view since our seating is all on one level.

Should we wear bug repellant? Because we are located outdoors, we always recommend bug spray for your comfort.

If I cannot make it on the night I purchased tickets, can I exchange my tickets to another night? Absolutely. You must call the Box Office before the show to arrange to have your tickets changed to the night you would prefer --we are happy to make that exchange provided seats are still available. However, there is a $2.00 fee per ticket to exchange. When paying by credit card you will see a credit for the original charge and then you will see a second charge for the night you have changed to attend.

We had a family emergency and had to return home. Can we get a refund?  We ask that you call the box office as soon as possible to work out an exchange.

Do’s, Don’ts, Donations and Dining

What is your policy on cell phones in the theatre? We ask that all cell phones are turned off or silenced during the performance.

Can we bring our camera or video camera? Cameras are permitted only before or after the performance. NO FILMING or photography of any kind is allowed during the performance. This includes filming with cell phones and cameras.

We host a "Meet & Greet" with many of the cast members immediately after each performance.  Picture taking is encouraged at that time.

What is your cigarette smoking policy? Smoking is permitted in a designated area at the back of the theatre.  Please look for appropriate signage and use receptacles provided.

Can we bring coolers with food and drinks? Due to limited space, only a cooler small enough to be placed under the seat would be permitted. No alcohol is allowed. We do have a concession stand located near the main restaurant. It will open before the show and close after intermission.

Are there places to eat or stay near the theatre?  Yes! There is a full restaurant and bar onsite and there are also many wonderful restaurants and lodging properties in the immediate area. The concession stand is open before the show and closes after intermission however the onsite restaurant remains open during and after the show. Please visit the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau website for more information on lodging and dining.  http://LakeGeorgeChamber.com or call 518-668-5755.  Please mention you will be attending the outdoor drama.

We will hold your tickets for you at will call under your full name.   Please visit our Ticket & Dates page to purchase.
